Using Voibe on multiple Macs

One Voibe license is for one person β€” and one Mac active at a time. You can install Voibe on as many Macs as you want; the Pro plan activates on whichever one you're signed in on. The same license also covers the Windows app: your Windows PC stays active alongside your Mac, and signing in there doesn't sign your Mac out.

The license model

  • Install everywhere. The free Voibe app can run on every Mac you own.
  • Pro activates where you sign in. Your Pro features turn on once you sign in to the Voibe app with the email you used at purchase.
  • One Mac active at a time. Signing in on a second Mac signs you out of the first. The first Mac loses Pro access.
  • Your Windows PC doesn't count against this. The same license signs in on the Windows app too, and it stays active alongside your Mac.
  • Switching is instant. No license keys, no support ticket, no cooldown.

How to switch your active Mac

  1. 1

On the Mac you're leaving, click the Voibe menu bar icon › Show DashboardAccountLogout. (Optional but tidy β€” signing in on the new Mac will also log you out here.)

  2. 2

On the new Mac, install Voibe from /pricing if it's not already there.

  3. 3

Open Voibe and sign in with the email you used at purchase.

  4. 4

Pro features unlock immediately. Your settings and Memory stay local to each Mac and aren't synced across devices.

Common scenarios

Work Mac and personal Mac

Sign in on whichever you're using for the day. Sign out (or just sign in elsewhere) when you switch. If you need both running Pro at once, see two licenses below.

New Mac (replacing old one)

Install Voibe on the new Mac and sign in. Your Pro plan moves with you. Memory entries don't auto-sync β€” recreate the ones you care about, or export/import via the in-app menu.

Mac plus Windows PC

Sign in on both with the same email. They can be active at the same time β€” signing in on your Windows PC doesn't sign your Mac out. On Windows, Voibe runs in zero-retention cloud mode.

Lending your Mac to someone

Either sign out of Voibe before you hand it over, or set up a separate macOS user account for them. The Voibe app remembers per-macOS-user state.

Lost or stolen Mac

Email hi@getvoibe.com from your purchase email β€” we'll force a remote sign-out so the device immediately loses Pro access.

When to add a second license

You probably only need one. The single-license model fits most people because dictating on two Macs at literally the same moment is rare.

Get a second license if:

  • You leave both Macs running and want Voibe ready instantly without signing in/out.
  • You want a household member to use Voibe on a Mac you don't share.
  • You're on a 3+ person team β€” the Team plan is about 20% cheaper than buying individual seats.

Buying a second license is just a second checkout at /pricing. Use a different email or a plus-suffix (you+second@example.com) so the licenses don't collide.

FAQ

Are my Memory entries and settings synced across Macs?

No β€” settings and Memory stay local for privacy. Voibe's design is to never put your dictation data anywhere except your Mac. Use the in-app export/import to move Memory between machines.

Does signing in on a second Mac log me out of the first immediately?

Yes. The first Mac's Pro access stops the next time it checks in; your settings stay saved on that machine.

Does signing in on my Windows PC sign my Mac out?

No. Your Mac and your Windows PC can both be active at the same time on one license. Only signing in on a second Mac signs out the first Mac.

Is there a limit on how often I can switch?

No. Switch as often as you like β€” there's no cooldown.

My team needs Voibe on 5 Macs. What's the right plan?

The Team plan at 5 seats is about 20% cheaper than 5 individual annual licenses, with one invoice. For 10+ seats with custom terms, email hi@getvoibe.com.
