# Read AI Pricing: $15 a Month, No Refunds, and a 5-Seat Catch > Read AI Pro is $15 a month billed annually, or $19.75 monthly. Free covers 5 meetings. Its paid plans come with a blunter line: "Read AI does not offer refunds for Services." That sentence is in Read AI's Terms of Service. The prices are on its pricing page: - **Free:** $0, with 5 meeting transcripts a month. - **Pro:** $19.75 a month, or $15 a month billed annually ($180 a year). - **Enterprise:** $29.75 a month, or $22.50 annually ($270 a year). - **Enterprise+:** $39.75 a month, or $29.75 annually ($357 a year). It needs at least 5 licences. Read AI is more meeting-intelligence platform than plain notetaker. Its bot, Read Assistant, joins Zoom, Teams and Google Meet. It also scores engagement, coaches you on your meetings and searches your email and messages. Read joins a Teams meeting and emails summaries to participants. To see the full notes, they create their own account. Then, in Memphis's words, "Read AI then attempts to join all Teams meetings of the new user." Its verdict: Read AI "is able to quickly propagate throughout an organization." Memphis blocked it from November 1, 2024. That's Memphis's account from 2024. Read's help center today says the report's owner decides whether viewers need an account. ### The four catches I read Read AI's pricing page, Terms, privacy policy, privacy center and help center on October 26, 2026. Four things stood out: - **No refunds.** Not in the first week, not pro-rated. The Terms rule them out. - **HIPAA comes in packs of five.** "HIPAA compliance" is an Enterprise+ feature, and Enterprise+ "REQUIRES 5+ LICENSES". That's at least $1,785 a year. - **Playback costs extra.** Replaying a meeting's audio or video starts on Enterprise, at $270 a year. - **Free stops at 1 hour.** Pro and Enterprise allow 4 hours a meeting, Enterprise+ 8. ### Where Voibe Work lands **Voibe Work ($149 a year) is $31 (17.2%) less than Read AI Pro annual ($180).** Voibe Work is the meeting-notes plan of [Voibe](https://www.getvoibe.com), the app we build. The pricing page tags Enterprise "MOST POPULAR". ### Annual or monthly? The toggle reads "Annual -25%". Billed monthly for a year, Pro costs $237, Enterprise $357 and Enterprise+ $477 a seat. The exact savings are in the hidden-costs section below. ### Languages and apps - **Languages:** the Free plan lists "20+ languages supported". The compare table says meeting reports come in "16+ languages". - **Desktop app:** Windows 10+ and macOS 14+. It records "no bot necessary", including in-person talks and Slack Huddles. - **Google Meet:** a "bot-less" native integration, per the help center. - **Phone:** iPhone and Android apps that capture in-person meetings. ### No dictation app in the lineup Read AI's product and pricing pages cover meetings, email, messaging, search, a "Digital Twin" and agents. None lists a dictation app. So if you also dictate, you'll pay for a second tool. I add one in the maths below. ## Is Read AI Free? What the 5-Meeting Plan Includes **Yes, Read AI has a free plan, and it doesn't expire.** The pricing page lists Free at "$0 … Always free, no credit card required". The homepage button promises "5 free meetings / month". ### Five meetings, one hour each Free covers "5 meeting transcripts per month". The compare table caps live notes and reports at the same five. Each meeting stops at 1 hour. That fits a light schedule, like a weekly one-on-one. It won't cover a team that meets every day. ### What Free still gives you - "Unlimited enterprise search" - Summaries "for meetings, email, and messaging" - A "Personalized meeting coach" - "Basic integrations" and "20+ languages supported" - Apps for Windows, macOS, Android and iOS ### What Free leaves out - **File uploads.** The compare table says "Not included". - **Long meetings.** Anything past an hour needs Pro. - **Playback.** Audio and video playback starts on Enterprise. - **Premium integrations.** Notion, Salesforce, HubSpot and the rest start on Pro. ### You may meet Free before you choose it Free matters even if you never sign up. When a colleague's Read joins your call, its summary may land in your inbox. Seeing the full report can mean making an account. Read's help center says the report's owner sets that rule. Owners also choose whether reports go to participants automatically. ### How Free compares with Voibe **Voibe has no free plan for meeting notes.** Voibe Free ($0 forever) covers dictation only, with limited words on one device. Voibe Work is $19 a month, $149 a year or $399 lifetime. It starts with a 7-day trial and no card. So if $0 is a hard limit and your meetings run under an hour, Read AI Free wins. ## What Each Paid Tier Adds: Pro, Enterprise and Enterprise+ **Each step up buys one main thing.** Pro buys volume. Enterprise buys playback. Enterprise+ buys compliance and control, five seats at a time. ### Pro: unlimited meetings and integrations ($180 a year) Pro is $19.75 a month, or $15 a month billed annually. It adds: - "Unlimited meeting transcripts", up to 4 hours each - "100 file upload credits /mo" - "Premium integrations": Notion, Salesforce, HubSpot, Jira, Confluence, Zapier and webhooks - "Custom Assistant Branding", so you can rename the bot - Claude and OpenAI GPT models inside Read AI's Search Copilot ### Enterprise: playback ($270 a year) Enterprise is $29.75 a month, or $22.50 billed annually. It adds: - "Audio & video playback" - "Video highlights" - 200 file upload credits a month - "Premium support" That's $90 a year more than Pro annual, a 50.0% jump ($90 ÷ $180). Pro has no playback at all. ### Enterprise+: HIPAA, SSO and retention, five seats minimum ($357 a seat) Enterprise+ is $39.75 a month, or $29.75 billed annually. It adds: - "HIPAA compliance" support for your Read workspace - "SAML & SCIM" and "Domain capture" - A "Custom data retention policy" that auto-deletes reports after a set number of days - 300 file upload credits a month and "Workspace onboarding" - Meetings up to 8 hours The pricing page says Enterprise+ "REQUIRES 5+ LICENSES". On annual billing, that's 5 × $357 = $1,785 a year at minimum. Billed monthly, it's 5 × $477 = $2,385. ### The same on every paid plan - Unlimited meeting reports and storage - Workspace access - The bot, the desktop app and the bot-less Google Meet integration ## Read AI's Hidden Costs: No Refunds, a 5-Seat Minimum and 1-Hour Free Meetings Read AI has no credit meter like [Fireflies' AI credits](https://www.getvoibe.com/resources/fireflies-pricing/). Its extra costs sit in the rules instead. Reading its pages, I count eight. ### 1. No refunds, at any point The Terms of Service put it in four words after the heading: "Read AI does not offer refunds for Services." Cancel mid-term and Read AI "will not refund any subscription fees already paid". On annual billing, the first payment is a 12-month commitment. Try Free first, or start on monthly. ### 2. HIPAA comes in packs of five A solo therapist can't buy one Enterprise+ seat. The minimum is 5 licences, or $1,785 a year on annual billing. That's $1,428 more than a single seat would cost. Read's privacy center also says "BAA available on request". Ask sales which plan the BAA needs before you buy. ### 3. Playback is a $90 upgrade Want to replay what was said, not just read the summary? Audio and video playback starts on Enterprise at $270 a year. That's $90 (50.0%) more than Pro annual. ### 4. Upload credits are capped by plan Pro includes 100 file upload credits a month, Enterprise 200 and Enterprise+ 300. The compare table counts them in minutes. Free gets none. ### 5. Free stops each meeting at 1 hour Pro and Enterprise stop at 4 hours. Enterprise+ is the only plan that records 8 hours. Voibe Work records up to 4 hours per meeting on its one paid plan, with unlimited meetings. ### 6. The "-25%" is slightly generous The toggle says "Annual -25%". The real savings: - **Pro:** $237 a year billed monthly drops to $180, a $57 (24.1%) saving. - **Enterprise:** $357 drops to $270, an $87 (24.4%) saving. - **Enterprise+:** $477 drops to $357 a seat, a $120 (25.2%) saving. Enterprise+ hits the number. Pro falls a little short. ### 7. Every user is a seat Prices are per user. For a team of 10 on annual billing: - **Pro:** 10 × $180 = **$1,800 a year** (monthly: 10 × $237 = $2,370). - **Enterprise:** 10 × $270 = **$2,700 a year** (monthly: $3,570). - **Enterprise+:** 10 × $357 = **$3,570 a year** (monthly: $4,770). Ten seats of Voibe Work cost $1,490 a year. That's $310 (17.2%) less than Read AI Pro. It's $1,210 (44.8%) less than Enterprise and $2,080 (58.3%) less than Enterprise+. ### 8. The bot can be turned away Read's bot joins as a visible participant. Some institutions block it: - **CUNY** blocked Read.AI and Otter.AI from September 11, 2025 ([York College IT notice](https://mailings.york.cuny.edu/cgi-bin/dada/mail.cgi/archive/faculty_ft/20250905090020/)). - **UC Riverside** blocked Read AI from meetings on UCR Zoom accounts from October 10, 2025 ([UCR tech bulletin](https://lists.ucr.edu/pipermail/tech-bulletin/2025-October/000244.html)). - **Eastern Washington University** cited "several complaints regarding read.ai and otter.ai tools appearing in Zoom and Teams meetings without the consent of all participants" ([EWU IT article](https://support.ewu.edu/support/solutions/articles/10000099209-Availability-of-Read-ai-and-Otter-ai)). - **Case Western Reserve** (September 2025) and **Morgan State** (June 2026) also block it, after Memphis in 2024. Read's desktop app records without a bot, which gets around a block. But a paid seat you can't use at work is money gone, with no refund. ## Where Your Meetings Go on Each Read AI Plan Paying Read AI more changes playback, retention controls and HIPAA support. It doesn't change where your meetings go. On every plan, reports live in Read AI's cloud. The privacy center says "AI training is opt-in. Contributing to model improvement is off by default." That's a better default than some rivals offer. The opt-in is the Customer Experience Program in settings. It lets meeting information and connected email and messages improve Read's features. The privacy policy is broader in two places: - **Demographics:** Read uses audio, visual and language information "to infer certain demographic characteristics about users, which we use to improve our models". - **Google data:** Read "may, either now or in the future" use Gmail, Drive and Chat data for "personalized AI and/or ML models". The policy says this data isn't used for generalized models. So the training switch is off by default. The demographic inference is the line I'd ask Read AI to explain. ### Retention: up to 2 years, or as long as you pay The privacy policy keeps audio and video "in no case for longer than 2 years". Paid accounts are stored until you stop paying or ask for deletion. Choose not to keep audio and video for playback, and Read keeps none beyond what it needs to build the report. Custom retention rules are Enterprise+ only. ### You can't delete someone else's copy Only a report's owner can delete it. Anyone else can request deletion through Read's Account and Privacy Center, which sends the request to the owner. The help center is plain about the limit: "we are not able to delete accounts or meeting reports at the request of a third party". That includes your company's IT team. ### Consent: the "opt out" command The privacy center says Read "announces itself at the start of every meeting and requires host approval before joining". Any participant can type "opt out" in the chat. That removes Read and deletes the meeting data for everyone. "Read stop" removes it but keeps the report up to that point. The 1- and 3-Year Cost **I'd call Read AI Pro worth $180 a year if three things are true:** - You'll use the analytics: engagement metrics, the meeting coach and search across email and messages. - Your meetings run under 4 hours. - A bot, and an archive in Read AI's cloud, are fine for your calls. Enterprise earns its $270 if you rewatch meetings. Enterprise+ is for teams of five or more that need HIPAA support, SSO or custom retention. ### Users rate it well - **iPhone app:** [4.88 out of 5 on the App Store](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id6575345796) from 1,034 ratings. - **Chrome extension:** [4.4 out of 5 on the Chrome Web Store](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/read-ai/aiamjjeggglngiggkmmbnpnpeejjejaf) from 30 ratings, with 400,000 users. Voibe Work deletes the audio after processing. ## Is There a Read AI Discount, Education Plan or Lifetime Deal? **Read AI's built-in discount is annual billing.** Two programs on its pricing page can cut the price further. Here's what the pricing page showed on October 26, 2026: - **Annual billing ("Annual -25%"):** saves 24.1% on Pro, 24.4% on Enterprise and 25.2% on Enterprise+. - **Read for Education:** education pricing exists. The page doesn't publish the numbers, so ask Read AI. - **Zoom Essential Apps:** Zoom One Pro, Business and Business Plus customers get Read's premium features at no cost. - **Lifetime deal:** none. A $399 lifetime option is on the page, tagged "Limited time". ## Read AI Refunds and Cancelling: The No-Refund Rule **Read AI doesn't give refunds.** Here's what its Terms of Service (last updated February 26, 2026) say: - **Refunds:** "Read AI does not offer refunds for Services." - **Cancelling mid-term:** Read AI "will not refund any subscription fees already paid". - **Renewal:** subscriptions renew automatically. Cancel at least one day before the renewal date. - **Price changes:** they apply at your next renewal. - **Disputes:** binding individual arbitration, with a class-action waiver. The Terms describe a way to opt out of arbitration. ### The practical upshot Start on Free. If you need more, try Pro monthly at $19.75 before you commit $180 to a year. That trial month costs $4.75 more than a month of Pro on annual billing. It's cheap insurance against a year you can't get back.
