Live Dictation AI Formatting
When you finish a Live Dictation, this setting cleans up your text — fixing punctuation, capitalization, filler words, and structure — so it reads the way you meant it. The cleanup is done by a powerful AI model that's too large to run on your Mac, so this one step happens in the cloud.
What actually happens
- Your voice never leaves your Mac. Audio is still transcribed on-device, exactly as before.
- Only the finished text is sent for formatting — nothing else. No audio. No extra information. Just the words.
- It's polished by GPT-OSS 120B, an open-weight AI model, running on Cerebras.
- The cleaned-up text comes straight back to where your cursor is.
What is never done with your text
- It is not stored.
- It is not used to train any AI model.

You're in control
This setting is off by default. It only runs when you switch it on, and only during Live Dictation. Turn it off at any time and Voibe goes back to 100% on-device — nothing leaves your Mac.
Everything else in Voibe stays exactly as private as it has always been.
