App won't launch

You double-click Voibe and nothing happens β€” or the icon bounces and disappears. This is almost always one of four issues: incompatible hardware, an outdated macOS, Gatekeeper blocking the app, or a corrupted download.

01

Confirm hardware and macOS version

Voibe runs on-device using Apple Silicon's Neural Engine. It requires:

  • An Apple Silicon Mac β€” M1, M2, M3, M4, or any future Apple Silicon chip. Intel Macs are not supported.
  • macOS 13 (Ventura) or later.

To check: Apple menu › About This Mac. The chip line should start with "Apple". If it says "Intel", Voibe cannot run on this Mac.

See System Requirements for the full breakdown and why this matters.

02

Allow Voibe through Gatekeeper

On a fresh install, macOS Gatekeeper sometimes blocks first launch β€” especially if you downloaded the DMG via a browser that stripped the quarantine flag, or if you're on a managed Mac with strict policies.

  1. 1. Try to open Voibe (the app silently fails or warns).
  2. 2. Open System Settings › Privacy & Security.
  3. 3. Scroll down to the security section. You should see a message like "Voibe was blocked from use because it is not from an identified developer".
  4. 4. Click Open Anyway, enter your password.
  5. 5. Launch Voibe again β€” this time it opens.

You only need to do this once per install. Voibe is signed and notarized β€” the Gatekeeper friction usually comes from the download path stripping the developer attestation.

03

Re-download a fresh copy

A truncated or corrupted download will silently fail to launch. To rule it out:

  1. 1. Move Voibe.app from Applications to the Trash.
  2. 2. Empty the Trash.
  3. 3. Download the latest DMG from getvoibe.com.
  4. 4. Open the DMG and drag Voibe to Applications.
  5. 5. Launch from Applications (not from inside the DMG).

04

Restart the Mac

Boring but effective. Restart to clear:

  • A zombie Voibe process holding the launch slot (check Activity Monitor first if curious β€” search "Voibe" and force-quit anything you find).
  • Stuck Launch Services entries that can leave new app installs unable to start.
  • Any pending macOS updates that need a reboot to finalize.

Still won't launch?

  • If your organization manages your Mac (MDM), an admin policy may block unsigned-in-the-policy apps. Ask IT to allow Voibe.
  • Open Console.app, filter by "Voibe", and try launching. The log often pinpoints the exact failure (missing entitlement, code signing, etc.). Forward the relevant lines to support.
  • Email hi@getvoibe.com with your Mac model, macOS version, and any Console.app output. We answer fast.
