Is Voibe HIPAA/SOC2 compliant?
In on-device mode, Voibe runs entirely on your Mac: dictation audio and transcripts are never sent to any server, so there is no cloud processing of dictation data to certify. Voibe does not currently hold SOC 2 or HIPAA certifications; our Security page describes the current posture. For privileged or regulated content, we recommend on-device mode.
Can opposing counsel subpoena my dictation data?
There is no data to subpoena. In on-device mode, audio is processed in-memory and discarded; nothing is stored, logged, or transmitted, and Voibe has no servers that could receive it. In zero-retention cloud mode, audio is deleted the moment transcription completes and text is never stored, so there is still no retained dictation content to produce. For privileged work, we recommend on-device mode.

No, not in on-device mode: on an Apple Silicon Mac, dictation runs 100% locally with no internet connection. In zero-retention cloud mode (used on Windows and Intel Macs), an internet connection is required.

No. Voibe runs on all Macs (Apple Silicon and Intel) and on Windows. Fully on-device mode requires an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or later); Intel Macs and Windows use zero-retention cloud mode.
