Is Voibe better than cloud-based dictation apps?
Voibe runs entirely on your Mac, so it's faster (no network latency), more private (no cloud uploads), and works offline. Cloud-based dictation apps send your audio to remote servers, which is slower and raises privacy concerns.
Will local AI drain my battery?
Voibe is optimized for Apple's GPU'. It only activates while you are holding the Fn key. In everyday use, the impact is negligible.
Is Voibe always listening?
No. Voibe only listens when you hold the Fn key and speak. When you release the key, Voibe stops listening and types what you said.
Does Voibe work offline without internet?
100%. You can use Voibe on a plane, in train tunnels, or anywhere without an internet connection. You are the server.
Can I use Voibe with Cursor, VS Code, and other developer tools?
Yes! Voibe works in every Mac app including Cursor, VS Code, Linear, Jira, and any other development tool. It's a system-wide voice dictation app that inserts text wherever your cursor is.
Can I change the hotkey?
Yes. You can change the hotkey anytime from the Voibe dashboard. Just click the hotkey setting and pick a new one.
Can I use Voibe for medical or legal documentation?
Yes. Many professionals in regulated industries use Voibe because it's a private, offline dictation app with no third-party data sharing. Are my voice recordings stored or saved anywhere?
No. Voibe processes your voice in real-time and immediately discards the audio data once transcription is complete. Nothing is stored, logged, or uploaded. Your audio is as temporary as your thoughts.
