tl;dv Pricing: $18 a Month, No Refunds, 10 AI Notes for Life

tl;dv pricing: Pro is $18 a month billed annually or $29 monthly. Free gives full AI notes on 10 meetings, ever. Every plan and the no-refund rule.

· 21 min read

tl;dv's Free plan promises unlimited video recordings. Full AI notes stop after your first 10 meetings, and that limit never resets.

After that, only the first 10 minutes of each call get notes. The plans, per seat:

  • Free: $0. Full AI notes on 10 meetings per account, ever. Recordings are deleted after 3 months.
  • Pro: $29 a month, or $18 a month billed annually ($216 a year).
  • Business: $39 a month, or $29 a month billed annually ($348 a year).
  • Enterprise: custom pricing through sales.

Prices are in US dollars, from tl;dv's pricing page on November 2, 2026. Every plan stops a recording at 3 hours.

Four rules to check before you pay

Zylo's 2026 SaaS Management Index found AI-native apps often arrive on staff cards and expense reports. Spending on them rose 108%.

If that's how you buy tl;dv, nobody in IT reads the Terms for you. I read them on November 2, 2026:

  • No refunds. The Terms call all fees non-refundable. tldx Solutions GmbH is the German company behind tl;dv.
  • Free AI notes don't renew. You get 10 full meetings for the life of the account, then 10 minutes per meeting.
  • Free recordings are deleted after 3 months.
  • The "up to 40% off" badge means 37.9% on Pro and 25.6% on Business.

Where Voibe Work lands

Voibe Work is $149 a year. That's $67, or 31.0%, less than tl;dv Pro annual ($216).

It's the meeting-notes plan of Voibe, the app we build.

  • Against Business annual ($348): $199 (57.2%) less.
  • Month to month: $19 against Pro's $29, so $10 (34.5%) less.
  • Against tl;dv Pro plus Wispr Flow Pro ($360 a year): $211 (58.6%) less. tl;dv sells no dictation app, and Voibe Work includes one.

tl;dv Free beats all of these on price. Voibe's own free plan covers dictation only.

If 10 fully summarised meetings are enough, pay $0. For more, read:

tl;dv's plans are Free, Pro, Business and Enterprise. Pro is $18 a month billed annually ($216 a year) or $29 monthly. Pricing checked November 2, 2026.

A few things are the same on every plan:

  • A 3-hour cap on each recording
  • Unlimited workspace members and viewers
  • Unlimited recording storage

The pricing page marks Business as its popular plan.

Annual or monthly?

The page opens on annual billing, with an up-to-40%-off badge. Billed monthly for a year instead, a seat costs:

  • Pro: $348
  • Business: $468

The real savings are smaller than the badge. The hidden-costs section below has the exact numbers.

Who counts as a seat

Only teammates on a paid plan, per the FAQ. Everyone else can stay on Free.

How tl;dv records

  • A bot, by default. It joins Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams under your name, such as "Grace's AI Notetaker".
  • A bot-free desktop app for Mac and Windows. It records audio only, with no video, screen sharing or chat.
  • iOS and Android apps for in-person meetings, up to 3 hours each.
  • Transcription in 30+ languages, per the pricing page.

No dictation app in the lineup

tl;dv's plans cover meetings: notes, clips, search, CRM sync and sales coaching. None of them includes dictation.

If you also write by voice, you'll pay for a second tool. I add one to the maths below.

Is tl;dv Free? What "Unlimited Recordings" Really Includes

Yes, and tl;dv's free plan doesn't expire. The homepage calls it free forever.

Unlimited recordings, limited notes

The Free card asks for no credit card. It lists unlimited video recordings and transcription in 30+ languages.

AI notes are capped, per the help center:

  • Meetings 1 to 10: AI notes cover the whole meeting.
  • Meeting 11 onward: only the first 10 minutes get AI notes.
  • The count never resets. The limits "are for the lifetime of the account, they do not renew monthly".

Meeting 11 gets 10 minutes of notes. Meeting 200 gets the same.

The other Free caps

  • 40 recordings a week from the web app, and no overlapping meetings
  • 5 file uploads and 4 clips. Clips can't be downloaded.
  • Ask AI: a small allowance that doesn't renew. tl;dv's pages put it at 5 to 10 questions.
  • 20 integration credits, also for the life of the account
  • On busy days, Pro users come first. The help center says a Free meeting may not be recorded.

Free recordings are deleted after 3 months

The help center says Free recordings are kept for 3 months. Before they go:

  • You get an email 4 weeks before deletion.
  • You can download them during those 4 weeks.
  • After that, nobody can download them, not even a user on Pro.

After a few days, Free recordings move to archived storage. Unarchiving one can take up to an hour and a half.

How Free compares with Voibe

Voibe has no free plan for meeting notes.

  • Voibe Free ($0 forever) covers dictation only, with 2,000 cloud words a week on one device.
  • Voibe Work is $19 a month, $149 a year or $399 lifetime.
  • Every new account starts with a 7-day trial of every feature, with no credit card.

On a $0 budget, with only a few meetings to summarise, pick tl;dv Free.

What Pro, Business and Enterprise Add

Each step up adds one main thing.

  • Pro: unlimited AI notes
  • Business: team insights and sales coaching
  • Enterprise: control, through SSO, SCIM and privately hosted AI

Pro: unlimited notes, integrations and an MCP server ($216 a year)

Pro is $29 a month, or $18 a month billed annually. It's aimed at individuals and small teams, and adds:

  • AI notes on every meeting, with your own note templates
  • Better transcription, and meetings in more than one language
  • Unlimited Ask AI on a single meeting, plus a drafter for follow-up emails
  • 5000+ integrations through Zapier, plus personal CRM sync
  • Unlimited uploads and storage, and recording downloads
  • A bot you can rename and restyle
  • An MCP server, an API and webhooks

The MCP server lets Claude or ChatGPT read your tl;dv meetings. You also need a paid Claude or ChatGPT plan, per the help center.

A meeting is only reachable if its organizer is on Pro or higher.

Business: team insights and coaching ($348 a year)

Business is $39 a month, or $29 a month billed annually. It adds:

  • Custom vocabulary and advanced transcription
  • Unlimited AI insights across many meetings, and scheduled AI reports
  • AI playbook monitoring and objection handling for sales calls
  • Team management, plus team-wide integrations and automations
  • Priority support

Business costs $132 a year more than Pro annual. That's a 61.1% jump ($132 ÷ $216).

Enterprise: organisation control (price on request)

  • SCIM provisioning and custom SSO
  • Privately hosted AI
  • Activity logs for the whole organization, and a super admin role
  • Optional usage-based pricing
  • A dedicated success manager
  • Up to 500 web recordings a week

tl;dv doesn't publish the Enterprise price.

The same on every plan

  • A 3-hour limit per recording
  • Unlimited viewers and workspace members
  • Automatic speaker detection, shareable clips and the mobile app
  • Email and calendar integrations

tl;dv's Hidden Costs: No Refunds, a 3-Hour Cap and Weekly Limits

tl;dv has no credit meter like Fireflies' AI credits. Its extra costs sit in the plan rules, and I count eight.

1. No refunds, at any point

No money-back guarantee appears on the pricing page or in the help center. The Terms (effective May 18, 2026) say: "Unless otherwise agreed, all fees paid to tldx are non-refundable."

If you pay annually, the first payment commits you for 12 months. Try Free, or a month of Pro, first.

2. The annual discount tops out at 37.9%

  • Pro: $348 a year billed monthly drops to $216, a $132 (37.9%) saving.
  • Business: $468 drops to $348, a $120 (25.6%) saving.

No plan reaches 40%, and Business falls well short.

3. Every recording stops at 3 hours

The help center caps recorded and uploaded meetings at 3 hours on all plans. Paying more doesn't lift it.

Voibe Work records up to 4 hours per meeting, with unlimited meetings.

4. Weekly recording caps

  • Free: 40 recordings a week, one meeting at a time
  • Pro: 80 a week, 2 at once
  • Business: 120 a week, 3 at once

The Terms also say an account is for one person. Record for several people, and tl;dv may get in touch.

If that isn't resolved, it may suspend the account.

5. Some useful features wait at Business

Custom vocabulary, unlimited Ask AI across many meetings and team libraries all need Business. That costs $132 a year more per seat than Pro annual.

6. The API follows the organizer's plan

Sharing a meeting doesn't grant API export rights, per tl;dv's API help. Even on Pro, you can't reach a meeting a Free colleague organised.

7. A removed teammate's seat keeps billing

Removing someone downgrades them, but their paid seat stays on the bill. You can give it to someone else.

To stop paying, remove the seat from the subscription.

8. Every recorder is a seat

For a team of 5 recorders:

  • Pro: 5 × $216 = $1,080 a year (monthly: 5 × $348 = $1,740)
  • Business: 5 × $348 = $1,740 a year (monthly: 5 × $468 = $2,340)
  • Voibe Work: 5 × $149 = $745 a year. That's $335 (31.0%) less than Pro and $995 (57.2%) less than Business.

One point in tl;dv's favour: only people who record pay, and viewers are free. On Voibe Work, everyone who takes meeting notes needs a seat.

Where Your Meetings Go on Each tl;dv Plan

Animated diagram of the two ways tl;dv records a meeting. Path 1, the default bot, joins as a participant named after the user and records video and audio. Path 2, the desktop app, records audio only, with no video, screen share or chat, and no automatic notice to the room. Both paths land in tl;dv's EU cloud on Google Cloud, Hetzner and Wasabi, where Free recordings are deleted after 3 months and paid recordings are kept until you delete them, with an AI step on Anthropic in the EU or US region. A contrast panel shows Voibe Work: no bot, audio processed on zero-retention providers and deleted when done, and the transcript and summary saved on your computer.
Bot or desktop app, both tl;dv paths end in its EU cloud. Sources: tl;dv help center and privacy policy (September 9, 2026), checked November 2, 2026.

Paying tl;dv more changes retention and AI limits. It doesn't change where your meetings go.

A 2026 security incident

In 2026 a researcher showed that tl;dv meeting metadata could be read across accounts. That included organizer emails and join links.

The company says it closed the last access path on August 5, 2026. Hosting, training, consent and the incident are covered in Is tl;dv safe?.

Consent is yours on both

tl;dv's Terms make you "responsible for collecting consents from all participants". Its Consent Collection feature lets external guests decline before the bot joins.

  • Consent Collection only covers auto-recorded calendar meetings.
  • In bot-free mode, the help center says notices may not appear automatically.

Voibe Work has no bot either. Voibe reminds you to tell everyone you're taking notes; following recording-consent rules is your responsibility (see our recording consent laws guide).

Is tl;dv Worth It? The 1-, 3- and 5-Year Cost

I'd call tl;dv Pro worth $216 a year if:

  • You want video recordings and clips you can share.
  • Your team syncs calls to a CRM, or you'll use the API or MCP server.
  • A bot, and an archive in tl;dv's EU cloud, are fine for your calls.

Business earns its $348 if your sales team uses playbook coaching. The same goes for insights across many meetings.

What users say

Both were checked November 2, 2026. The Trustpilot complaints are about access and billing, not price:

  • A US reviewer (June 3, 2026) paid $216 a seat for two seats. They were then locked out of recordings for nearly two weeks.
  • A reviewer in Germany (March 30, 2026) reported a charge after a formal cancellation.

Voibe Work (annual)$149$447$745Lifetime is $48 less over 3 years and $346 less over 5

tl;dv has no lifetime plan, so its cost climbs every year. Voibe Work's lifetime seat compares like this:

  • It costs $183 more than tl;dv Pro in year one ($399 against $216).
  • It breaks even with Pro annual in about 1.85 years ($399 ÷ $216).
  • Against Business annual, it breaks even in about 1.15 years ($399 ÷ $348).
  • On annual billing alone, Voibe Work saves $67 a year against Pro. That adds up to $201 over 3 years and $335 over 5.

Where tl;dv is the better buy

  • You need $0. tl;dv Free records without limit and fully summarises 10 meetings. Voibe's free plan covers dictation only.
  • You want video and clips. Voibe Work records no video and deletes the audio after processing.
  • You want a bot to join calls for you. A no-bot tool records only from your own computer.
  • You record on your phone. tl;dv has iOS and Android apps for in-person meetings, and Voibe has no phone app.
  • Your team lives in HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive or Zoho. CRM sync starts on Pro.
  • You want guests to be able to say no. Consent Collection lets them decline before the bot joins. Voibe Work only reminds you to tell people.
  • Most of your team only watches. tl;dv charges only the people who record.

Is There a tl;dv Discount, Student Plan or Lifetime Deal?

tl;dv's built-in discount is annual billing. Nonprofits can also ask for one.

  • Annual billing: 37.9% off Pro and 25.6% off Business. The badge on the page says up to 40% off.
  • Nonprofits and NGOs: message support with your seat count and your cause. No rate is published.
  • Students and startups: no discount on the pricing page or in the help center.
  • Promo codes: none on the pricing page.
  • Lifetime deal: none. Every plan bills monthly or annually.
  • Trial: the FAQ says you "can try tl;dv's paid features before committing". It doesn't say for how long.

All checked November 2, 2026. The cheapest paid seat is Pro at $18 a month, billed annually.

Nonprofits can compare published discounts in our AI note takers for nonprofits.

How Voibe Work handles it

  • 7 days of every feature, with no credit card and no automatic charge
  • After the trial, you move to Voibe Free unless you buy
  • A 30-day money-back guarantee on paid plans
  • A $399 lifetime option, which the pricing page marks as limited time

tl;dv Refunds and Cancelling: Export Before You Go

tl;dv doesn't give refunds. Its Terms (effective May 18, 2026) and help center cover the rest:

  • Refunds: all fees are non-refundable unless otherwise agreed.
  • To cancel: go to Account & Billing, then Manage subscription. Stripe opens, and you click Cancel plan.
  • Leaving entirely: the Terms let you stop at any time. They warn that termination may destroy the content in your account.
  • Deleted recordings: "We do not keep backups nor fallbacks."

What happens to your recordings when you downgrade

tl;dv doesn't say. Paid recordings are kept until account deletion.

  • Free recordings are deleted after 3 months.
  • No page covers paid-era recordings after a move to Free.

Download what you need before you cancel. Downloads need Pro or higher.

Try a month before a year

Start on Free. If you need more, pay $29 for one month of Pro.

That month costs $11 more than a month on annual billing. I'd pay it before locking $216 into a year with no refunds.

tl;dv vs Voibe Work: What a Year Costs

Voibe Work section of getvoibe.com: 'Every meeting captured. No bot in the room.' with four features (no bot joins the call, one-click copy and PDF export, summaries that fit the meeting, chat with your meetings) beside a live client-call transcript
Voibe Work: $67 a year less than tl;dv Pro, with no bot in the call, dictation included and notes saved on your computer.

On paid plans, Voibe Work costs less than every tl;dv tier. It's $149 a year against $216 for tl;dv Pro, a $67 (31.0%) saving.

Month to month, it's $10 (34.5%) less. Only tl;dv Free costs less, at $0.

tl;dv setupPer yearVoibe Work ($149) is
Pro, annual$216$67 (31.0%) less

Business, annual$348$199 (57.2%) less

The headline row's maths: $216 − $149 = $67. Then $67 ÷ $216 = 31.0%.

The dictation bundle

tl;dv covers meetings, not dictation. If you also write by voice, you need a second app.

  • Annual: tl;dv Pro ($216) plus Wispr Flow Pro ($144) is $360 a year. Voibe Work's $149 is $211 (58.6%) less.
  • Monthly: Pro ($29) plus Wispr Flow Pro ($15) is $44. Voibe Work's $19 is $25 (56.8%) less.

Voibe Work includes Voibe Dictation on Mac and Windows. Wispr Flow now has a bot-free notetaker too. See Wispr Flow Notetaker vs Voibe Work.

Both come with an MCP server

tl;dv Pro's MCP server reads meetings from tl;dv's cloud workspace. Voibe Work's Meeting MCP lets you ask ChatGPT and Claude about all your meetings.

  • You turn it on from the Meetings page.
  • One switch stops every AI app at once.
  • Voibe's panel says: "What an app reads goes to the company behind its AI, for example Anthropic for Claude. None of it goes through Voibe's servers."

What Voibe Work includes

  • No bot. It captures from your Mac or Windows PC in Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Webex, Slack huddles or any other meeting app.
  • In-person meetings, recorded through your Mac or PC's mic
  • Open-source models on zero-retention cloud providers process the audio. It's deleted as soon as processing completes.
  • The transcript and summary are saved on your computer, not Voibe's servers. They're never used to train AI.
  • Speaker labels with a time next to every line. Rename a speaker and the summary updates.
  • Templates for each type of meeting, plus your own custom templates
  • Chat with your meetings
  • One-click copy and PDF export
  • Up to 4 hours per meeting, with unlimited meetings
  • Voibe Dictation, included

Meeting notes need an internet connection. Voibe reminds you to tell everyone you're taking notes; following recording-consent rules is your responsibility (see our recording consent laws guide).

What Voibe Work doesn't have

tl;dv has all of these, and Voibe Work doesn't:

  • A free plan for meeting notes
  • A bot that can join calls for you
  • Video recording and shareable clips
  • iOS and Android apps
  • CRM and Zapier integrations
  • Sales coaching and playbook monitoring (Business)
  • Consent Collection, which lets guests decline before recording starts

If those matter more than where your notes live, pick tl;dv.

More on Voibe Work

Which tl;dv Plan Should You Pick?

Four questions, in order. Stop at the first plan that fits.

1. Will 10 fully summarised meetings, then 10-minute notes, do?

  • Yes → tl;dv Free ($0). Download recordings before the 3-month deletion.
  • No, I need full notes on every call → question 2.

2. Do you need custom vocabulary, coaching or insights across many meetings?

  • No → tl;dv Pro ($216 a year, or $29 a month). Try a month first, since there are no refunds.
  • Yes → question 3.

3. Do you need SSO, SCIM or privately hosted AI?

  • No → tl;dv Business ($348 a seat a year, or $39 a month).
  • Yes → tl;dv Enterprise. Ask sales for a price.

4. Should a bot or a vendor cloud be anywhere near these calls?

  • Fine either way → stay with the tl;dv plan above.
  • No bot, and notes kept off vendor servers → Voibe Work ($149 a year, $19 a month or $399 lifetime, Mac and Windows). Voibe reminds you to tell everyone you're taking notes; following recording-consent rules is your responsibility (see our recording consent laws guide).
  • No bot, but you want it free → see the free options in tl;dv alternatives.

Privacy and alternatives

Does tl;dv train AI on my meetings?

No, per its privacy policy (September 9, 2026). Neither tl;dv nor its AI providers train models on your recordings, transcripts or notes.

Recordings and notes live in tl;dv's EU cloud. The full picture is in our Is tl;dv safe? guide.

Is tl;dv cheaper than Voibe Work?

tl;dv Free is. On paid plans, Voibe Work ($149 a year) is $67 (31.0%) less than tl;dv Pro annual ($216).

It's $199 (57.2%) less than Business annual ($348). Month to month, Voibe Work's $19 is $10 (34.5%) under Pro's $29.

Is tl;dv cheaper than Otter or Fireflies?

No. tl;dv Pro is $216 a year billed annually. Against that:

Where can I compare more meeting note takers?

Start with our tl;dv alternatives. The AI meeting note taker pricing guide lists every tool's cheapest paid plan.

Final Verdict: Is tl;dv's Pricing Fair in 2026?

tl;dv's paid prices are fair for what it does. Pro at $216 a year adds video, clips and CRM sync. It also has an API and an MCP server.

Free is a real way to try it. The privacy policy also rules out training on your meetings.

Where the costs hide

  • No refunds, so an annual plan is a year's commitment from day one.
  • Free AI notes stop at 10 full meetings, for good.
  • Free recordings are deleted after 3 months.
  • Every recording stops at 3 hours, on every plan.
  • A bot joins by default, and your meetings live in tl;dv's cloud.

When I'd pick Voibe Work instead

If the bot or the cloud worries you, look at Voibe Work. It's $149 a year, $67 (31.0%) less than tl;dv Pro, with dictation included.

  • No bot joins your calls.
  • Your notes are saved on your computer.
  • A 7-day trial covers every feature, on Mac and Windows, with no credit card and no automatic charge.
  • Voibe reminds you to tell everyone you're taking notes; following recording-consent rules is your responsibility (see our recording consent laws guide).
